The Montague Street site has been part of Birmingham’s working life for generations. Once alive with Victorian industry, it was where founder Steve Knight’s own father worked, and where he played as a child. Today, those same buildings have been reimagined for film and television, a transformation that keeps the past alive while opening the doors to new creative futures.
Digbeth Loc. Studios is a passion project for me. To see the place come to life in such a vivid and productive way is a bucket list tick. We now have a place in the heart of Birmingham which will be home to creativity of all kinds. Theatre will meet movies, music will meet dance, visual arts will meet backstage crafts, while at the heart of it all will be international production of quality screen content.
I intend to bring my own TV shows and movies to Digbeth Loc. wherever possible and I will work hard to make it possible. Digbeth Loc. is more than a facility it is an artistic hub in the coolest part of town, run and owned by people who know the business and know how tough it can be.
